December 23, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

5-7pm. Therapeutic touch begins when a mom first smoothes her hands in wonder over her growing belly. Across human experience, skills develop as parents perform endless diaper and clothing changes and learn what helps to soothe their individual keiki. The need to provide reassuring touch continues through the bumps and bruises of childhood to the aching hearts of teenage life.  Whether or not we are parents ourselves, we remember what it felt like to be young and hurting and cared for - or wanting to be cared for.

Ouija: A Dance Partnering Workshop with Eddie Bruno Oroyan and Jessica Eirado Enes

April 6, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
|Recurring Event (See all)

One event on August 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm

Saturday April 6 & Sunday, April 7. Pulling from the idea of the ideomotor phenomenon that is considered the ‘invisible player’ in an Ouija board game, our curiosity dives into how to train this subconscious “decider” that works at an underlying level of consciousness where we ‘do’ without thinking. In this partnering class we emphasise hyper listening and empathic moving. We question what it means to join a movement journey and to explore manipulation in solidarity, and we explore how to let that ‘animal spirit’ under our skin move (through) us. Concurrently, we use a series of tools and games to help free the mind to be available and to make quick decisions.
