Warm up with Wave Continuum’s breath and sound to then follow your heartbeat and dance to a selection of music that leads you through different phases from slower to ecstatic and wild to lyrical, to arrive at a slowdown into deep relaxation. This can be just a great physical workout or a deep emotional journey where you can transform through the dance whatever is weighing you down. This is a safe space with other like-minded people who choose dance as one of their favorite ways to keep balanced and healthy in and out.

Bring a dish for a potluck afterwards outside.

A Movement exploration that touches your soul, expands you expression and renders your body  fluid!
We will work with breath, sound and undulating movement to tap into deep spaces of healing and insight. Although breath is, in itself, treated as movement, we also go on to learn specific movement practices that will eventually be put together into a sequence. The sequence of practice lays out the territory of exploration.

Stress, among other things, produces a hormone called cortisol, which over stabilizes the fluid in our connective tissue, making it impossible for it to move through its aqueous cycle.  When fluid becomes bound, it cannot exhale; it creates rigidity, locking down our connective tissue, fixating our muscles, creating an overstabilization or a structural excess that will ultimately erupt in functional disorders. When fluid becomes more aqueous, its capacity to communicate is enormous. When fluid becomes gel (or more solid, more local), its concerns are more within a boundary. Connective tissue serves our organism in many ways, but one of its primary contributions is relationship.
Learn to listen for the authentic enfoldment of movement, the wisdom of your body, muscles, connective tissue, organs, cells and spirit, the meeting of water and the spark of fire; this is the wonderful practice of creation.  We are all longing for connection and when it is finally there, the heart opens and deep joy may be found.
