This class is for de-stressing and re-balancing our energy. This combined yoga practice will renew and ready us for a calm evening, good night’s sleep and clear day ahead. Our Restorative Yoga will use a variety of postures supported with props, such as chairs, bolsters, blankets and straps to experience a deep body relaxation. We move our spine in all directions, alternately stimulating and soothing our organ systems. We reverse the effects of gravity, returning the fluids to our upper body and enhancing heart function. Reducing muscle tension and fatigue, as well as improving digestion, we provide a supportive environment to relax the body. We end with Yoga Nidra as a very powerful way to still the mind. It is not necessary to concentrate. Simply listen to the instructions, follow them mentally, and refrain from sleeping. Yoga Nidra can calm the mind and elevate our spirit.

Paula Celzo

Taking yoga with Paula gives you a deep feeling of participating in something sacred and good for the soul, beyond just a healthy physical activity.

Paula started finding her Yogic path through the practice of asanas. In 2015, she encountered the “Bhagavad Gita” which led her to a deeper understanding of what Yoga truly is. Her lifestyle of study and practice incorporates: Vedic scriptures, kirtan, asanas, and meditation brought her to sharing her experience through teaching.

After completing her 200RYT at Rishikul Yogshala in Rishikesh, India, Paula took her 36hr Yoga Nidra teacher training with Mary Bastien, Jennifer Reuter and Brenda Kwon. She completed Restorative Yoga Level 1 Teacher Training with Chanti Tacoronte-Perez. All the while she continues to practice under the guidance of her primary teacher, Yogi Charu.

Relax and restore while we take you on a journey through restful, prop-supported postures to the sounds and vibrations of crystal bowls and gongs. Infusing these two offerings creates a fully immersive experience. Sound bathing stimulates the alpha and theta brain waves that are associated with deep meditative and peaceful states, highly conducive to healing. This class is designed to slow down the heart and respiratory system to create a therapeutic effect on the mind and body. By synchronizing your brain waves and body, you release stress and allow your balance to restore itself.

Jennifer Reuter (E-RYT 500hrs)

With Jennifer, we learn that each pose can be a metaphor for conscious living. Jennifer commits to teaching yoga as way of life, both on and off the yoga mat.

You will find that her classes are “interdisciplinary” inviting both ancient and modern; they are intelligent, innovative and always incorporate the deeper aspects of yogic philosophy, mantra, breath and meditation.

Jennifer fell in love with the yoga tradition in 1998 after receiving her first copy of the “Bhagavad Gita”. Being certified in the health and fitness industry since 1995, Jennifer found her passion for yogic philosophy naturally guiding her to asana on the yoga mat. She has studied extensively with many different teachers and believes there is no “one” way or style that is superior, but only the way that feels right in your body, mind, and heart. Her main influences include: Shiva Rea, Sianna Sherman, Tias Little, Anusara & Pilates systems.

Jennifer is a long-time meditator and since 2008 has been formally enrolled with Blue-Throat Yoga (a school dedicated to the study of meditation, yoga, and tantra). These in-depth studies have highlighted the subtle and nuanced understandings of the theory and practice of meditation. She credits her own personal meditative practice as the source of her greater wisdom, love, and presence.

Jennifer has received private sessions with Ambi Sitham, a sound healer that travels with Wanderlust, before going off on her own. She attributes her ability to play the instruments, to her deep, daily meditation practice. This practice allows Jennifer to have a patient mind, and to play using her intuition.

Because of her deep understanding of asanas and the chakra bowls, she also has a gift of being able to coincide the sounds of the bowls with specific asana to facilitate their openings. For example, playing a heart chakra bowl while students are in heart opening postures has the ability to help move the sound into that energetic area that the asana is opening.

Cecilia Ryan

Cecilia considers herself a student of life. She guides us to “ride the wave of each breath, connect to the flow of life, and celebrate each moment as a gift”.

Cecilia’s yoga journey began in the year 2000 in Hamburg, Germany, where she was a fitness and aerobic instructor. Fascinated by the harmonious dance between breath and movement, effort and ease, she began to immerse herself into the vast ocean of yoga. Her love for people and the desire to learn and share the ancient wisdom of yoga and its healing qualities, made the transition to teaching yoga quite natural.

Cecelia took her first teacher training in 2004 and began teaching in Germany and Portugal before she moved to Hawaii in 2008. In 2011 she completed her 200hr RYT and in 2015 her 500hr RYT under Mary Bastien and Jennifer Reuter. Cecilia also embraces a daily meditation practice taught to her by Dr.Paul Muller-Ortega.

Treat yourself to deep relaxation. Come and join us on this voyage through the different layers of the body. You will be led through a sequence of restorative yoga postures that support the body in finding deep relaxation by moving out of the “fight or flight” sympathetic nervous system and into the parasympathetic nervous system. We will explore some of the marma points – “energy amplification “ points – from the Indian tradition, and manipulate them through acupressure, facilitating the circulation of vital force energy through the entire body. Aromatherapy, beautifully uplifting and serene music, and candlelight will accompany you through your voyage into a deeply relaxed state, culminating in a guided meditation. Each participant will leave with a handout suggesting a sequence of the vital acupressure points to try at home. No prior yoga experience is necessary, only an open mind and the desire to feel better in your body. Aum, Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. Great for personal restoration.

Suspended Restorative Yoga is the perfect event to reset your mind, body, and spirit. Undo the affects of your everyday routine by relaxing into a ‘silk’ hammock that gently elevates part of your body in each yoga pose as you listen to beautiful music. Much like restorative yoga on the floor, we use bolsters, blocks, and straps to help support the weight of our body to make each pose as relaxing and supportive as possible. The aerial hammock cradles you just inches from the ground in passive, restorative yoga postures, during which you can engage in quiet contemplation. This extended, 1.5 hour session concludes with a hovering savasana at the end of class.

Clothing: close-fitting with underarms covered. No zippers, metal or jewelry, which could tear the fabric. Appropriate for all levels. No aerial or yoga experience necessary.
