Start with the basics, at a relaxed pace. Learn all the fundamental motions for Turkish belly dance, starting with the hip roll and upper body movements. Murat introduces you to all the basic categories of Turkish belly dance, such as the 5 types of shimmy.
Murat presents the class in a slow, easy-to-approach manner that will still give you a great workout! You can take this class as introduction to prepare you for the faster, more challenging Turkish Belly Dance for Fitness and Belly Dance for Performance classes.
This class is also excellent cross training for many dance and other movement formats. You find muscles you never knew you had! You increase core strength, while greatly improving your body control and ability to operate different parts of your body independently.
