Stretch for Rejuvenation is for anyone wanting like safely to increase their flexibility and range of motion. In this slow series of stretches, you will gently mobilize and create space your joints, stretching muscles and fascia attached to the pelvis and lower back areas. Utilizing gravity to naturally open your spine, psoas muscles, hips, IT band, hamstrings and thighs, you calm the nervous system. You also stimulate healthy lymph drainage and release deeply held toxins within the fascia and muscle layers. Your shoulders, wrists and ankles get a gentle stretch and strengthening within a safe range of motion. No matter how tight or stiff you may feel coming in, by the end of class you feel relaxed and ready for the rest of your evening. Join us for this regenerating stretching routine!

Jung Hyun (Lina)  Kim

Students in Lina’s classes experience her calm, steady purpose. She teaches with a profound understanding of how the body works. Lina is a 6th generation acupuncturist, with over 20 years of study and practice, including traditional oriental massage work. She has devoted over 25 years to learning one of Korea’s oldest Daoist medicinal lineages. Her studies include Qigong, Iaido, Kendo and Oriental Medicine.  Lina majored in music and graduated at Seoul National University in Piano and Kumungo (a traditional Korean Daoist instrument), earning First Prize in the nation at the Korea’s traditional music competition in 1993.

Discover the connection between your lower back and neck. Learn to gently heal yourself and ease your discomfort. Since the spine is a chain of vertebra, there is a correspondence between the neck and the lower back. By aligning your neck you will realign your lower back. In this workshop we approach the alignment and mobility from both ends.

The Feldenkrais Method is a wonderful and potent method to rebalance, realign and heal areas in our movement coordination. The method is slow-moving, very gentle, and only requires a curiosity about our own movement habits. Some of those habits are causing limitations, pain, inflammation and over-exertion. We’ve learned certain unhealthy habitual movements and postures so long ago that we may no longer recognize them or know that we can actually change our old patterns. With the Feldenkrais Method we can recognize those hindering habits and find better ways of moving that are healthy, strengthening and pain free. This does not only happen on the physical plane but also ripples out into the rest of one’s life.

A rare visit by traveling hand balance teacher, Brianna Peterson Magly!! Build your confidence in standing upside down, and moving on to greater fun when ready!  

This workshop starts with a discussion of the detailed actions involved in achieving a straight handstand. We cover the body’s alignment from fingers to toes, while paying close attention to the use of our breath and core strength. (Taking notes is encouraged.)

Stepping onto our mats we will go through a series of stretches to warm up the body’s flexibility, mobility, and strength; focusing heavily on shoulders and wrists.

Beginners will receive all the steps needed in progressing to a straight free handstand. More advanced students will have the opportunity to discuss and learn variations such as; press to handstand, jump to handstand, and one arm. There is something for everyone — beginners and advanced alike!

Class ends with an outline of a unique core strengthening sequence to help support an inversions practice. 4 minutes a day will provide the core strength that you need.

This workshop focuses on achieving a straight-line handstand. Reviewing proper alignment from fingers to toes, and paying close attention to the use of our breath and core strength. There is something for everyone — beginners and advanced alike! More advanced students will have the opportunity to learn further variations.

Having been Miguel’s understudy for more than 1000 hours, Brianna has the knowledge to teach far beyond her own physical capabilities – which are considerable! Brianna’s ability to pick up on the finer details of the body is key in their straight alignment method. A Northern California native, Brianna has been traveling internationally for the last 4 years, accumulating various yoga practices and body awareness theories along her way.
