The documentary, WORDS, EARTH & ALOHA: The Source of Hawaiian Music, tells the story of these Hawaiian musicians/historians, and preserves the language, style and essence of their precious gifts for future generations. This one-hour documentary explores the sources of a complex tradition, from early chants and gospel influences, to the work of composers for whom Hawaiian was still a first language. It focuses on those musicians and composers who flourished between the 1870s and 1920s and pays tribute to the poetry and play of Hawaiian lyrics, as well as the places and features of the natural world that inspired songs we still listen to and love today.Watch trailer: http://hlf.securehostinghawaii.info/words-earth-and-aloha/
