We are proud to welcome internationally renowned aerial artist and instructor, Alexandra Apjarova, to Still & Moving Center this fall.
Alex will lead a 40 hour teacher training for experienced aerialists seeking to:
- solidify their aerial technique (apparatus: silks and lyra),
- learn step by step methods to spot and safely transfer knowledge to students,
- establish and/or review industry standard safety checklists and equipment maintenance,
- gain insight into pedagogical methods that will ensure a nurturing teaching environment,
- acquire and/or deepen their passion for the aerial arts through the highly inspirational guidance of a world class performer and teacher.
Originally from Slovakia, Alexandra is stunning, global aerial performer, choreographer, teacher and trainer, best known, perhaps, as a Cirque du Soleil aerialist.
Alexandra Apjarova is one of the pioneers of the AntiGravity ® Aerial Hammock movement vocabulary for performance, and performed the original aerial silk hammock routine with the world famous Cirque du Soleil in the critically acclaimed production of “Delirium”.
In 2009, she was blessed to be chosen to perform in the Michael Jackson’s “This is it” tour in London. After the tragic passing of an icon, she was thrilled to perform at the red carpet premiere of the movie in an aerial chandelier, making a crystal illusion of light.
She has been honored to perform in other productions and events such as: “La Soiree”, “The Leona Lewis Labyrinth Tour”, “President Obama Neighborhood Inaugural Ball”, “Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City”, at the Grammy Awards with the group “No Doubt”, as well as for “Musical Barnum”, “Antigravity” and many more.
Based in NYC area since 1994, but recently moved to Orlando FL, she is a versatile and passionate performing artist specializing in aerial art, dance, rhythmic gymnastics coaching and choreography.
Alexandra is a former national champion in rhythmic gymnastics. She coached the “Wendy Hilliard Foundation” competitive rhythmic gymnastics team, as well as their adult students for almost a decade. She also worked with Cirque du Soleil’s “Saltimbanco” acrobats on tour as a dance teacher, as well as for many other studios worldwide.

Kezia aims to inspire others to live to their full potential by being open and chasing their souls’ passion. Aerial holds a special space in her life. It sparked a fire that allowed her to explode into a whole new rainbow of color and creativity. Kezia took her Aerial Fundamentals and Lyra teacher trainings from the esteemed NECCA, the New England Center for the Circus Arts, and her Aerial Yoga training from Wendi Lynch of Aerial Yoga Hawaii.
Kezia first dove into flow arts in 2008 when she fell in love with a hula hoop, appreciating its freedom and beauty in the expression. In addition to aerial dance, Kezia is also devoted to other flow arts practices, including horseback arts and yoga. By practicing gratitude for all teachers, experiences and opportunities she has had along the way, Kezia continues to enhance and share her knowledge through study, practice and teaching.

Now you can peel your kids’ eyes away from that TV screen, video game or cel phone and enroll them in something fun and healthy: by joining the circus for a day! Led by a fine host of teachers with diverse backgrounds and rich offerings, Still & Moving Center’s Circus Day Camp will engage your child and give them an experience they will never forget.
The Circus skills we will cover include archery, aerial hammock, Lyra (aerial hoop), pantomime, hoop dance, tumbling and juggling, which all engage the child’s body and mind, leading to increased concentration and longer attention spans. Led by Phil Doerr, founder of Archery for All, Circus Camp is designed to build confidence, teach responsibility, sharpens focus and boosts brainpower. He believes that “nothing clears the mind better than shooting a bow.”
The circus is also a great training ground for children to learn responsible social practices, like sharing, compassion and awareness of self and others. Heather Booth, our resident aerial arts teacher, spent years traveling (in such places as Israel, Palestine and Thailand) teaching social circus, which teaches trust and encourages people to find peace. Ki Wagar is a magical teacher of aerial arts, tumbling, hooping and yoga to children. She creates a calm and supportive atmosphere for children to connect with their bodies and grow physically, mentally and emotionally. With a little luck, we may have a surprise visit from Giggles the Clown!
Healthy snacks and vegetarian lunch provided; drop-off at 9am and pick-up at 4:30pm.
Treat your children to a day at the circus where they get to be the stars!
