Come and celebrate the 100th birthday of Hawaii’s own Jean Erdman Campbell, ground-breaking modern dancer and teacher & wife of the great American philosopher Joseph Campbell.

Born in Hawaii 100 years ago, Jean first learned the hula and while still attending Sarah Lawrence College was dancing on Broadway with Martha Graham. Jean later created the Open Eye dance studio, trained many great dancers, and created many great dances. See the original posters of her performances in New York that have been preserved for over the decades.
Dancing tai chi master, Chungliang Al Huang charms his way into our hearts with his stories and talents, coaxing us out onto the floor to move with him! Fred Lau serenades us with live flute.
Aerialists delight us with their skills on the silks. We’ll enjoy beautiful dance performances.
The birthday “girl” will, once again this year, take delight in being with us in each present moment and greatly enjoy the evening. Join us for a marvelous evening of whimsy, delight and of course, birthday cake!
