Jerome L. Mester de Trevino began his journey in dancewith music as his guide. Jerome has been a percussionist for over 20 years, but it was not until he immersed himself in the culture and essence of Latin movement through Salsa and Contemporary Afro Latin Movement, that he found his true path to unrivaled expression. This marriage of man and art imparted a gift of healing that put him on a journey of self-discovery, aligned him with his life’s purpose and evoked new techniques and processes for dance and emotional/spiritual restoration. He has taken this gift and message across America and has returned to Hawai’i (considered to be his hanai one hanau) bring these enlightenments to you.
His dedication to the relation of music to Latin movement in dance and the interpreter (the dancer) has demarcated him as a refined, innovative and melodic dancer. His dedication to the promulgation of the healing and restorative endowment of movement has created various platforms for which he shares his experience and message of Proper communication, Right relationship and the Body informing the Mind. Both of these form Mr. Mester de Trevino’s heart of hearts that he openly shares through his company W.E.P.A. (Wellness, Expression, and Progress through the Arts). Mr. Mester de Trevino challenges his students and partners to find their own voice within the music and to hone their skills in order to freely express themselves.
