Ready to dedicate yourself to 10 weeks on the aerial silks? For students who are still at an Aerial 1 level, looking to reinforce current skills, learn new skills and get a chance to perform – this is the series for you!
Come join us for a 10-week series of aerial dance. You will be preparing a performance for Still & Moving Center’s March 18th birthday celebration and possibly other opportunities as they present themselves.
This series will focus on making aerial fabrics safe and accessible to everyone in an encouraging and fun environment. Students will build upper-body and core strength, increase range of motion and flexibility, and get in tune with their creative side.
Prerequisite: Instructor approval. Must take an aerial class with Megan before Jan 3, 2017 and obtain her approval. Must be comfortable with climbing, foot locks from a climb, straddle backs and supporting your own body weight.
Megan has been spinning in the silks since March 2013 and hasn’t made her way down yet. She even continued her practice in Singapore during her semester abroad in school! She began dancing lyra and trapeze shortly afterwards and loves it just as much! Aerial is the perfect balance and outlet to her awesome, yet hectic architecture career.
Megan trained under Ukoyia Mastin from NECCA (New England Center for the Circus Arts) and mentored Heather Booth, original owner of Miraas Aerial studio in Boulder and lead aerial dance teacher at Still & Moving Center. Megan is a naturally gifted teacher. As an aerial teacher and practitioner, Megan is excited by the challenging journey that she plans to continue for the rest of her life. Megan loves with her students the fun, happiness and peace of aerial in a safe, positive and encouraging environment!
