Dance with international guest musicians, Jaya Lakshmi & Ananda! Sure to open your heart and get you on your feet in total celebration! These two rocked the house in January!! Amazing world beat dance music with live vocals by Jaya Lakshmi.

Jaya Lakshmi is known for trailblazing new musical dimensions with her band Lost at Last, which toured in the western US from 1997-2004. All of the music is devotionally inspired, much in the kirtan style, Sanskrit prayers and songs from India in addition to original English lyrics. Thus, the new genre of ‘kirtronica’ has been born.

Similar to the the Lost at Last sound, Jaya Lakshmi’s new music is a mixture of house and tribal trance beats, with (recordings of) acoustic instruments like tabla, guitar, flute, and sarod: KIRTRONICA! In the current duo format, she sings live while Ananda runs Ableton Live (an electronic a program). They lead the audience through an ecstatic dance journey that awakens their shakti, inspiring devotional trance states and deepening their connection with the divine. http://jayalakshmiandananda.com/

Inspired by the deep devotional mood of Indian singing and music, Jaya Lakshmi began leading kirtan with harmonium and 12 string guitar and writing her own devotional songs in the early 1990′s on the island of Hawaii.

She has since created 4 solo albums on Sequoia Records* and recently released the double disc album ‘Live at the Altar of Love’ June 2011 in collaboration with her partner Ananda. She is also known as the lead singer and songwriter for the techno-tribal group ‘Lost at Last’ that toured the US West and produced 3 albums during the years of 1997-2004. She continues to explore the format of mixing of electronica and sacred chant (‘kirtronica’) through composing and performing with Ableton LIVE.

Her ecstatic singing and kirtan leading, often accompanied by other talented artists, has had a powerful effect amongst various communities in the islands of Hawaii, the West Coast, and Europe, always creating a deep sense of intimacy with the divine. She has a unique style that blends beauty, power and purity to create a truly transcendental sound driven by her deep connection with spirit.

Ananda Yogiji has been teaching yoga and meditation consistently (primarily Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan) for over 5 years.  He has completed several Kundalini Yoga teacher-training intensives in New Mexico as well as completed and taught at numerous holistic yoga immersions at the Dharmalaya in Eugene, Oregon.

As a gifted musician and song composer, his musical offerings complement his Yogic practices with a deep devotional spirit.  His music channels a unique blissful energy current supported by Mantras with roots in Sanskrit and Gurmukhi. He sings, plays guitar, base, harmonium and Bansuri flute with Jaya Lakshmi.  Since partnering with Jaya Lakshmi, he has performed with artists like Jai Uttal, Shimshai, David Newman and Dave Stringer.
