Introductory Yoga-Dance Workshop: Shin Somatics with Kay Nelson, Somatics trainer
April 20 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join for “Land to Water Yoga” and simultaneously enjoy a dance experience. Learn about Shin Somatics, visiting guest trainer Kay Nelson. Somatics is how we feel, move, do!
Land to Water Yoga is movement from the land where we are now, back down to the ground, representing the water world where we began. Or we can reverse the direction from “water” to land. The workshop consists of hour and a half of movement, with 30 minutes of introduction, explanation, and questions. Shin Somatics was created by Sondra Fraleigh, a luminary in conscious movement.
This workshop precedes a 5 day Shin Somatics training called ‘Our Body of Nature’ that will take place at Still & Moving Center in August, which qualifies for Yoga CEC’s through Yoga Alliance and also for CEC’s with ISMETA.
Shin Somatics comes out of the Eastwest Somatic’s Institute in Utah, which is established for exploring conscious dance movement and yoga. For more information, see: eastwestsomatics.com
