The back straddle is one of the foundation poses of Aerial Yoga. In this workshop we will explore ways to get into this pose with ease. We will work to improve confidence and comfort in the back straddle and explore some of the many poses that can be accessed from this basic posture. With a focus on balancing strength and flexibility, students will acquire skills they can add into their current traditional yoga studies or other physical endeavors but also gain a great fundamental understanding of the silk hammock in order to begin a committed Aerial Yoga practice. Beginners welcome.

Wendi Lynch is a RYT-200, Unnata Aerial certified yoga instructor, having been a devoted student of yoga since 2002. She is continually expanding her knowledge of the architecture of the body and how it relates to the poses and the hammock. After falling in love with the trapeze arts in 2008 she naturally gravitated to aerial yoga, training with Michelle Dortignac, founder of Unnata Aerial Yoga, in 2010. The de-compressive qualities of the practice led her to a fluidity and depth of practice she had not experienced before.
