During our time of pause, while the world came to something of a standstill, many have found solace, steady invigoration, and inner/outer connection through yoga. Please join Hawaii’s second annual International Yoga Day event, honoring this ancient body-mind-spirit practice of Yoga.

For some sessions you can join the practice on your mat at home to sample different yoga styles. Listen to Sanskrit mantras typically used in yoga and watch various yoga demonstrations. Tune in for conversation on yoga philosophy.

Originating in India, yoga goes back thousands of years. Modern research shows that yoga adds significantly to our quality of life when done regularly with proper technique. Studies repeatedly show that yogic postures enhance body functionality, while breathing slowly in a relaxed manner, can slow our heart rate. Focusing the mind through yogic meditation cultivates mental peace and potentially deep, spiritual insight.
