Flying with Friends is a fun-filled playshop that incorporates yoga, acrobatics, and elements of Thai Massage. With the two teachers, you will receive the benefit of seeing both the flyer and base positions being correctly demonstrated for every move. You will also get frequent opportunities to practice with a teacher. We will learn basic floor lifts, how to support your partner’s full or partial weight using proper skeletal alignment, and a few different transitions. We will cool down with some simple yet amazing Thai partner massage techniques. Come with a friend or meet someone here, and we will work with different partners so everyone gets to learn.
It is recommended that you can do 5 full push-ups or hold a plank position for 45-60sec and comfortably hold a full or partial bridge pose for 30 seconds.
Ki Mary Wagar, 200 RYT, always felt a fascination with the body and how it functions. She loves the playfulness she discovered in acrobatics and enjoyed the discipline of pilates, and longed to deepen her exploration of her body. Ki began her practice out of sheer enjoyment but delved deeper because of the transformative power, healing, and joy she found within yoga. After completing her 200 hour RYT at Open Space, she became certified to teach children with Brynne Caleda through Yoga Ed and aerial yoga with Wendi Lynch of Aerial Yoga Hawaii. She teaches yoga and aerial yoga to adults, as well as children. Ki enjoys doing acro-yoga, hooping, and various aerial formats in her free time. Ki has a way of teaching children so that they forget they are learning and adults reconnect with their bodies. She creates a calm and supportive atmosphere for for all to explore their bodies, physically, mentally, and spiritually if they wish. Her practice grows each passing day with asana and meditation, an Ayurvedic lifestyle. She passes on what has become interwoven with the very fabric of her life and heart, on and off the mat.
