If you are one of the thirty-one million Americans who currently suffer from low back pain, there is hope! This series is based on the largest, most definitive scientific study about the use of yoga therapy for the treatment of chronic lower back pain. In the NIH-funded study which tested this program, 78% of the participants experienced a significant reduction in pain levels using yoga poses for back pain. This seven week series provides valuable instructions on yoga poses for back pain, to alleviate pain and prevents its recurrence. This educational series includes in class guided therapeutic
developmental yoga practices, an informative booklet on yoga & back health which also has the practices thoroughly explained and illustrated, as well as a mp3 of each practice so you may have a daily healing home practice. Each class lays the foundation for the next and is progressively more challenging. This is an excellent tool to alleviate chronic low back pain, tension, mild scoliosis and sacroiliac conditions.
Gina Hart, RYT-500 was introduced to yoga at the early age of five by her grandmother as she read and practiced “Yoga for Americans” by Indra Devi. As Gina journeyed through life she practiced different styles of yoga, but something was missing, until the book “Yoga for Transformation” by Gary Kraftsow crossed her path. The holistic approach of Viniyoga, applying the tools of the ancients & emphasizing function over form brought her practice to the deeper level that she had long desired. After completing 200 hours of workshops & intensives with Mirka Scalco Kraftsow it was time to share this lineage with others and she committed to a two year teacher training program with Gary Kraftsow, founder of the American Viniyoga Institute. A 500 hour AVI teacher certificate was presented to Gina in August 2009. In 2010 she became certified to teach The Essential Back Program, based on the National Institute of Health study which results were published in the prestigious Annals of Internal Medicine.
