Dancing the 4 Directions for Self-Direction
Sunday, Sept 22
In the Native American way we live in a wheel that has four main quarters that represent the 4 directions of the sky. Each of the 4 Directions is symbolized by a season, a color, a certain stage in the life of the human being, as well as with special opportunities and strengths. The 4 directions are our orientation in life, where we are and where we are going – in a literal and in a transpersonal sense. These different energies in Native Ways are referred to as ‘The four winds ‘ or the ‘4 Grandfathers and Mothers’.
In this workshop you will be given powerful tools for self-understanding through the Native American teachings – we will use trance-dance to move in the 4 different qualities. We will have the chance to dance our prayers and send them into each direction. This workshop uses movement, breath, sound and ritual to dive deep where deep truth emerges, revealing wisdom and information to infuse our lives with grace and meaning. It will allow you to dance the meaning of Your 4 Directions.
