Celebrating Magnificence: Sue Bells – Unstoppable Aerialist
Sue first came to Still & Moving Center in March 2012 in search of…something. When I met her, she told me she was feeling depressed, now that she had retired from nursing and nurse administration and had newly moved here to Honolulu. The drop in human interaction and level of responsibility seemed to leave her her feeling lonely and questioning her self-worth. She had enjoyed taking aerial classes in the past, but wasn’t sure she could afford to pay for them now.
We got Sue started on work trade for classes – presiding at meditation sessions, cleaning, and doing reception desk work – in exchange for aerial classes. Sue progressed rapidly through the aerial levels. Next thing I knew, she was doing jaw-dropping aerial moves! She’s cheery, she’s professional and she’s amazing and she is 72 years young!
Sue will be doing a solo performance at our March 18th Birthday party, this Saturday, 6:30 – 8 pm. What song is she performing to? “Unstoppable” of course! And don’t take my word for how good she is. Just come see her yourself!!!
