Whether you are a novice or an established dancer, Kumu Malia’s guidance will encourage full immersion in the cultural background, techniques, inspiration and foundations of the much-admired Hawaiian Hula. May 16-18. For hula teachers, this 3-Day immersion will deepen your connections to the roots and foundations of hula. It may also qualify you for further mentoring under Kumu Malia.
Over 3 full days, experience many components of the revered Hawaiian hula tradition. Dance, oli, Hawaiian language, ceremony, lei-making, connection to nature, history and culture lessons as well as visits to sacred sites make up this immersive experience. September 16-22, 2019. Nia Blue Belt is a weeklong intensive training, the second level of Nia education after White Belt. Blue Belt explores how to create healthy relationships through body-centered communication.
