Nia Classes at Still & Moving Center
Step into the joy of Nia, a body-mind-spirit fitness practice to soul-stirring music with the motto “Through movement we find health.” Nia fuses the energies of the dance arts, martial arts and healing arts with a large scoop of fun! The choreography gives guidance, the freedom allows us to adapt the moves to our own bodies’ needs.No prior experience required. Current classes include: Nia, Athletic Nia and Gentle Nia.
Nia empowers you to positively shape the way look, feel, think and live, no matter what your shape, age or gender. Nia teaches you to listen to your body to customize your own work-out. One student in the class might turn up the dial for a sweat-drenched cardio session, combined with stretching and strengthening, while another student in the same class might take a gentler approach, just right for their body’s conditioning. Nia provides a perfect balance of structure (52 basic moves) and freedom (self-expression, listening to your body’s way).
